3 Ways to Style a Silver K-Pop Princess Minidress with Anna Hashizume

Style Advice: Wear what you want when you want! I think people (especially in the midwest) get nervous about wearing certain items because they’re nervous about what people will think. If you want to wear something, don’t let what other people think stop you from looking and feeling your best!

I’m a huge K-pop stan, so I get a lot of my style inspiration from girl groups like Blackpink, Itzy, and Aespa (pictured above).

Story behind garment or why you chose it for this: I chose this silver mini-dress because I think mini-dresses are super versatile! You can dress them up or down and pretty much wear them all year round. Plus, this came from one of my favorite vintage spots in the Twin Cities – Up Six Vintage!

Look One

a silver mini-dress styled with black platform boots and a harness

Silver dress with harness (from Etsy), boots (brand: Demonia), and sunglasses (from local retailer Queenie & Pearl): This is an everyday look for me! You’ll find me dressing like this to go to the grocery store, to voice lessons and coachings, or to go grab coffee. I love how the platform boots and harness add a little edge to the look while still keeping it easy-to-wear and not too over-the-top (at least not in my book!).

Look Two

Silver mini-dress styled with bandeau and blazer and white boots

Silver dress with bandeau (from a clothing swap with friends), blazer (brand: asos), and booties (brand: Zara): I like to think of this look as a more buttoned-up, business-y look. It could even work for a holiday party! I love how the lapels of the dress stick out over the blazer’s. I’m kind of a “more is more,” person, so I didn’t want to just wear the dress and a blazer. That’s why I also grabbed the bandeau, it adds another element without seeming like “too much.”

Look Three

silver mini-dress with fishnets and faux fur green statement coat

Silver dress with green jacket (brand: Stand Studio; from local retailer Idun), fishnet socks (from target), platform wedges (from a clothing swap with friends): Who’s ready for a night out? This outfit is! To brave the Minnesota winter, one needs a cozy statement jacket. I love that this one is slightly oversized. Plus, it’s warm and stylish (that combination can sometimes be hard to find)! I love the slight-sexiness that the thigh-high fishnets give this look too.
