Review: Naked Goat Protein Powder—A Clean and Sustainable Choice

Naked Goat protein powder along with fresh leafy greens, oat milk and banana is my go-to breakfast.

In our ongoing commitment to sustainability and well-being, we’ve begun exploring beyond the world of fashion, venturing into areas that impact our daily lives in profound ways. Today, I’m excited to share our first-ever product review outside of fashion/beauty: Naked Goat Protein Powder. This review comes at a time when our team is deepening its investigation into the toxins that pervade our environment. We’re not only having our water tested for forever chemicals, but we’re also planning to publish our findings when we get the results. Given the increasing concerns about heavy metals and toxins in dietary supplements—a pressing issue highlighted by various studies including a recent report from Consumer Reports—it’s crucial that we scrutinize what goes into our bodies with the same rigor we apply to what we wear.

The Quest for a Cleaner Protein

The wellness industry is not immune to issues of contamination and ethical consumerism. While you’re probably aware of the concept of greenwashing, when it comes to health and wellness that same idea is called “cleanwashing”. Cleanwashing is where a company will imply their product is safer and more beneficial than it actually is. Protein powders definitely fall into this category! Recent findings have shown that many protein powders on the market contain alarming levels of heavy metals like arsenic, lead, and mercury, alongside other contaminants such as BPA and pesticides. Against this backdrop I have been searching for a healthier protein source. This brought me to Naked Nutrition, a company that stands out for its commitment to purity and health.

Why Naked Goat?

After trying a few kinds I’ve settled on Naked Goat. Derived from Wisconsin based grass-fed goats, it comes in Vanilla, Chocolate or unflavored.

One thing I like best about Naked Goat is its digestibility. Many of us who engage in regular fitness regimes have at some point turned to whey protein to enhance the results of our workouts. However, the lactose in traditional whey can be troublesome for many, including myself. I’ve noticed that standard whey often leaves me feeling bloated—something I never considered as a direct result of lactose intolerance until I made the switch. With Naked Goat, this isn’t the case. The protein is not only easier on the stomach but also retains the nutritional benefits essential for post-workout recovery, making it an excellent choice for those sensitive to lactose.

Clean and Transparent

I am also obsessed with transparency (no cleanwashing!) and Naked Nutrition excels here. Their products come with a promise of “no artificial sweeteners, flavors, or colors,” and they provide comprehensive details about the origins and processing of their whey. This level of openness is crucial if you want to avoid unnecessary additives and contaminants in your supplements.

The environmental angle is also worth noting. The goats are pasture-raised, which supports more sustainable farming practices when compared to the often industrial production of cow’s whey. This aligns well with our ethos at No Kill Magazine, as we strive to endorse products that not only serve our health but also the health of our planet.

Taste and Mixability

Taste is subjective, but I found the Vanilla Goat Whey to be pleasantly mild and not overpoweringly sweet. But full disclosure: my morning protein shake has alot of other great flavors from things like dates, ginger and plenty of greens so I don’t really taste it at all. But I did try once just with ice water and it was fine. Compared to other protein powders this one blended in easily.

Final Thoughts

Expanding our focus to include products like Naked Goat Protein Powder feels like a natural evolution for us. As we continue to learn about the pervasive nature of toxins in our environment, it’s clear that making informed choices about what we consume is as vital as what we wear. Naked Nutrition’s commitment to purity, transparency, and ethical sourcing earns it a solid recommendation for anyone seeking a healthier, more digestible protein powder that aligns with a conscientious lifestyle.

Stay tuned for our upcoming article on water safety and Forever Chemicals, and remember, whether it’s fashion or nutrition, staying informed helps us make choices that not only enhance our lives but also protect our planet.
