Check out how we Styled These Oscar Nominees

The Oscar nominations for 2022 have arrived! While some of us watch the Oscars for the awards…most of us watch it for the fashion. It is rare to see Oscar nominees wearing sustainable fashion making it seemingly impossible to envision sustainable fashion worthy of these events. We’re here to change that idea. We styled the Oscar nominees for best actress and best supporting actress sustainably. The dresses are either by explicitly sustainable designers or from earlier collections of traditional designers. Accessories were found on The RealReal. Because what’s more sustainable than re-wearing?

Best Actress Nominees

Jessica Chastain

Jessica Chastain is nominated for an Oscar for her role in The Eyes of Tammy Faye. Jessica has won several awards but not (yet) an Oscar. But she would definitely be a winner in this head turner. Chastain tends to wear elegant dresses, so to keep with that vibe we chose Ronald van der Kemp’s haute couture gown. The halter neckline of this dress will compliment Chastain’s body shape well and the detailing of the dress gives her an effortless classy look.

We added the Effy Jewelry ruby and diamond necklace to give it that pop of color.

Olivia Colman

Olivia Colman is nominated for her performance in the film The Lost Daughter. Colman tends to wear high neck dresses with intricate sleeves on the red carpet at award shows. We think this dress from the Chloe fall/winter 2021 collection would be a great fit for Colman. The detailed bust area creates the perfect frame for this extraordinary emerald and diamond pendant necklace. is sure to stand out on the red carpet.

Penelope Cruz

Penelope Cruz is nominated for her role in the film Parallel Mothers. Cruz explores many different styles when it comes to her award show outfits. For the Oscars this year we wanted to dress her in a Ronald van der Kemp haute couture gown paired with a strong gold necklace. The gold and white contrast paired with the detailing of the dress will compliment her complexion and create a bold effect!

Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman is nominated for her performance in Being the Ricardos film. Kidman wears elaborate dresses to the award shows she’s attended. No one does ‘barely there’ as well as Nicole. For the Oscars this year we think this gown by Jean Paul Gaultier from the SS 2001 collection is a perfect fit. Paired with a 14k diamond bracelet and 18K pearl and diamond necklace.

Kristen Stewart

Kristen Stewart is nominated for her role in the Spencer film. Stewart has come a long way since her Twilight days and it shows. Stewart has a range of styles when it comes to award shows and she effortlessly gives off an edgy vibe. We think Stewart would look amazing in this dress with the dramatic sleeves but sleek look. To give the outfit a twist we would pair it with The Real Real coin necklace to bring attention to the neckline.

Best Supporting Actress Nominees

Jessie Buckley

Up first is Jessie Buckley who is nominated for her performance in The Lost Daughter. Buckley tends to wear black or white to award shows. We think this baby pink Joel dress by designer Cecilie Bahnsen would be the perfect way to introduce a bit of color to Buckley’s award show wear. Van Cleef & Arpels Magic Alhambra Six Motif Necklace would increase the glamour.

Ariana Debose

Ariana Debose is nominated for her role in West Side Story. Debose brings vibrant color to award shows through what she wears. We think this preowned 1990 Georgio Armani gown would look stunning on Debose. Paired with this YSL Monogram Matelasse wristlet to give her outfit a pop of color.

Judi Dench

Judi Dench is nominated for her performance in Belfast. Dench mixes it up with colors for the award shows she has attended but loves a dress with sleeves. For Dench we would dress her in this vintage Marchesa gown and add this Judith Leiber bag to complete the look.

Kirsten Dunst

Kirsten Dunst is nominated for her role in The Power of the Dog film. We’re surprised this is her first Oscar nomination! Dunst changes up her look at every award show she attends with different styles, colors, and lengths. We think Dunst would look so graceful in this dress from the Chloe fall/winter 2021 collection. To spice things up we would pair it with the Vivienne Westwood Vargas Tart shoe. The bold colors in this shoe would elevate the outfit in the perfect way.

Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis is nominated for her performance in the film King Richard. Ellis makes statements at the award shows she attends pulling all the attention to her!

We think Ellis would look gorgeous in Altelier Versace SS 2005 pre-owned silk beaded dress. Paired with Judith Ripka Crystal and Diamond pendant necklace to highlight the pink of the dress.

Sustainable fashion is worthy of the Oscars and celebrities like this can show that! These outfits are the perfect way to attend the Oscars ethically but we’ll see how these actresses are styled on the red carpet very soon.
