These clothes are from the collection of Joanna Semel Rose, a woman of unique style who passed away last year at 90. A noted philanthropist and patron of the arts, she loved Christian Lacroix for the boldness and originality of his designs. Regarding her extensive array of couture, she would say, “I’m not a collector, I’m a treasure hunter. I buy only what I like and for no other reason.”
