Building a Sustainable Wardrobe: The Wool Coat

Welcome to part two of the new series “Building a Sustainable Wardrobe”, today’s focus is the wool coat. A wool coat is essential to any wardrobe. This piece of outwear, if you choose the right one, can remain a go-to piece for decades. Trust me, I’m currently wearing a coat my mother wore in the ’80s.

What I personally look for in a coat is classic tailoring, neutral color, and ensuring it’s made of 100% wool. This small criteria guarantees it will last me for many winters to come and ensure I won’t get tired of it.

Below you’ll find a list of 6 options that could make great additions to any wardrobe. When choosing what to include I’ve looked at what materials it’s made of and the impact production has on people and the planet. So keep scrolling to up your outerwear game.
