Sleek and sophisticated with a laid-back sensuality is how I would characterize the BEVZA spring 2024 collection. Svitliana kept to her signature black and white palette, but this time incorporated a deep orange color along with a floral print referencing marigold. Marigold or Chornobryvets in Ukrainian, symbolize optimism and revival. Where you plant a marigold, it will sprout.
“Marigolds are my grandfather’s favorite flowers. In honor of his memory, for 20 years on my balcony in Kyiv I used to replant the seeds he gave me. I was forced to leave my home in Kyiv, but I kept his memory with me. I want these flowers to sprout everywhere” she shared.
While subtle references to Ukraine are important to Svitlana, what matters to us most is the fashion. And with a unique sensual minimalism, this collection is full of covetable looks. A few of our favorites include the relaxed white trousers worn with a bralette and a long coat, the high neck floral tank with black trousers and the elegant silver and white gown worthy of the silver-screen. Details such as cut-outs in the back of a long sleeved button up shirt and a maxi skirt with a side slit add an unexpected edge to the polished and sleek aesthetic.
This attention to detail is also seen with the incorporation of zero waste fabric technology and traditional Ukrainian jewelry craftsmanship.
Svitlana dedicated this collection to the passionate and conscious young generation who are determined to contribute to a peaceful future. A beautiful sentiment from a designer who continues to impress us.
